The birdsong Family mourns the passing of Francis Ragbirsingh, a long-standing member of birdsong who has made a significant contribution  to the establishment of birdsong steel orchestra. FRANCIS was birdsong’s first regular, resident Truck Driver and though a non-playing member, he played an indispensable role in promoting our new steelband  and establishing  birdsong as a household name, by faithfully and reliably transporting the band to “play-out” engagements and birdsong’s Pan for de People Concerts throughout the length and breadth of Trinidad and Tobago for many years, until he migrated to the United States in the mid-1980

Come play with the world's best community Steelband. The birdsong Stage Side resumed rehearsals on Wednesday 1st July. Practice continues every Mondays, Wednesdays & Saturdays starting from 4:30pm at UWI Old Works Building.

Farmer Nappy’s phenomenal 2019 hit, Hookin’ Meh, achieved anthemic status at this year’s Panorama competition played by multiple bands, including three of the ten finalists in the large band category, and providing a Renegades’ win at the creative hands of Duvonne Stewart.

birdsong is making a call to all  International Pan Players come to Trinidad to play with birdsong for Panorama 2020.  Our arranger for 2020 is the legendary Robbie Greenidge Grammy award winner and multiple Champion Panorama arranger 

We're inviting all creatives to register for the birdsong Vacation Programme 2019. The camp will be held from July 8 — August 9, 2019. As usual, the camp is free but there is high demand so admission is by audition.  Auditions will take place at UWI Old Works Building, Agostini Street, St. Augustine on Thu. 30 May and Wed. 5th June starting at 9 a.m.  Email academy@birdsongtt.org or call 620-5285 for more info

We spotlight the contributions to one of our longest serving members — Mr. Kontar Adigun. He played in his first panorama for birdsong in 1976 and to date, Kontar has not missed any of birdsong’s Panorama appearances.  He is the only active member to play in  birdsong’s  three Panorama finals appearances and is confident that next year, he can make it four.

birdsong has independently raised the funding to cover the fees for our Panorama Players. The  Practice schedule has been intensified and is now from Monday to Saturday starting at 7 pm at the birdsong Panyard  #3 St. Vincent Street, Tunapuna.   If you are interested in playing with us please attend practice this week to ensure you are registered as part of our Panorama Side.
