The Jim Royle Drum Studio (A Team), and Silver Steel will bring the 2017 edition of their Caribbean tour to an exciting climax by participating in a free concert at the new birdsong Panyard (#3 St. Vincent Street Tunapuna) on Thursday 13 April (Holy Thursday) starting at about 1 p.m. Admission is free to the public.
Hailing for Bridgeport Connecticut in the USA, the Jim Royle Drum Studio is a collective of teachers, performers, and composers. Its students and award winning ensemles have performed throughout the USA and also a at the international level, including such venues as The Teatro Sociale di Soresina in Soncino Italy, The Sforzata and, and the Royal Academy of Music in London England. Silver Steel is arguably leading steel band based in Connecticut and is also directed by Jim Royle. Silver Steel is renowned throughout the New England region of the US for its renditions of many Caribbean favorites as well as Soca and Calypso styled music from Trinidad and Tobago. The band also has performed a number of unique, steel-pan based interpretations of popular rock and pop music classics as show in this performance of the Who's Baba O'Riley
The ensemble are really happy to be on tour in the home of the steelpan, Soca and Calypso.
