Our Arranger for 2018 is Mr. Rudy "Two Left" Smith. In a career spanning six decades, Trinidadian steelpan player, arranger and composer Rudy "Two Left" Smith has built a reputation exploring and bridging the world of Jazz with steelpan, finding in each a sincere spirit of musical expression. In the process, he has performed and recorded with many artists and musicians from all corners of the universe. Although Two Left is mainly known for his contribution to Pan in Jazz, he is no stranger to Panorama and even less so to birdsong having arranged for the band for several years. Rudy Smith promises music that, according to BBC the has clear reference to Trinidad neighbourhoods with hints of Venezuelan Tonada, Afro Cuban Jazz, Samba, flamenco and even Bach. His latest album "Glass World" with the Rudy Smith Quartet is garnering rave reviews in the International press.
