The Judges visited the Trinidad Eastern Region steel orchestras. The Eastern Region steel-bands included birdsong, based at the Tunapuna Pan Yard; Republic Bank Exodus (Tunapuna) and Harmonites (Morvant Junction).
birdsong's selection "Pan Magic" was arranged by Andy Narell, who was beaming with confidence, which indicated patrons and Judges would be party to a grand performance. The birdsong players seemed intent on making birdsong the winner of Panorama 2015. They didn't disappoint. Shortly after birdsong began their selection, the judges' faces showed approval. The birdsong players rhythmic beat, along with their smooth swaying, captivated the audience.
The
Pan Yard was filled with Pan enthusiasts and onlookers, who were
mesmerised by the sweet sounds which reverberated through the Tunapuna
community. The Judges were undoubtedly impressed by the smooth,
energetic and majestic performance of birdsong.
The end of the performance had all the attendees applauding birdsong, even the Judges joined in praising the selection. Afterwards, the Judges provided their reviews about the performance, which was ostensibly positive. The players were pleased with their birdsong and have received added confidence for the next round of competition. birdsong will now perform at the semi-finals, along with other large bands.
